April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July. She began guitar and piano lessons from age seven. Her interest in songwriting was sparked. At the age of 12 April wrote her first song Different. It was a long time at 14 writing songs, and practicing her music. Then she began to take journeys to write with her father in NY as well as LA. She also started to write about additional topics that were related to of her classmates who struggle with issues such as social pressure and teenage suicide as depicted in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart works in partnerships at popular clean beauty brand Ilia as well as a lifestyle influencer, with her own large following. She has a disability that is part of her personality, but it's not all of the of the picture. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her Instagram profile, but she doesn't place it in the spotlight of her account. The message is? We all have multiple aspects and that we are all unique and that we're much beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart through a recorded message from Nashville's home, affirms that I don't intend to allow this to be a part of me. I'm far more than just my physical body. This doesn't influence my day-to-day life. I run my business as usual and have developed my own methods to adjust. It's an integral element of my life so it is important for us to speak about the subject. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart is truly an inspiration in this regard. However, she acknowledges going through phases with her body, at times being unsure about wearing particular types of clothes which accentuated the arms of her. She dresses according to her preferences and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social media. Self-love, according to her, is like a journey. "I doubt you will ever be there," she said. It's a journey, I don't think you ever reach your destination. The idea of having people close to you who truly understand you and can see the depths of your soul is vital because they'll be the people who will remind you what your worries about?
