Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she has the record of being given 10/10 points in an Olympic performance. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci would go on to be Romania's gymnastics coach. She first competed in the national junior championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She took the title in the year 1970. In 1972, during an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes before the Olympics she won three medals of gold. In 1973 and '74 she was the overall junior champion. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. The first female ever to successfully perform the backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol entered the entertainment industry in her teens. She started her career performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performances.
